Solution for battery problem with plate load tester and planograph for devices delivered at the end of ‘24 – beginning of ’25
Unfortunately, we have made an unnoticed error in the delivery of some (not all) devices in recent weeks. The battery current measurement was set incorrectly.
The error manifests itself as follows:
- the battery display shows ‘full’ for a very long time and only decreases very slowly (or not at all)
- at some point the battery is suddenly empty
- it may take a very long time for the battery to charge
1. Check whether the error is present
The measured current should be approx. -22mA (see Fig. 1 right, for plate load tester AX01a and Planograf without Bluetooth) or -29mA (Planograf with radio module).
If the current is approx. 0mA, it must be reset as follows:
2. Set the battery current measurement correctly.
Proceed as shown in the video. (The device is in ‘!’ mode and you are in the ‘Battery info’ function, the power supply unit is plugged in and the electronics have been removed:
- A charging current of approx. 1700mA is displayed.
- Now remove the plug from the battery.
- The current should drop to approx. 0mA. (If it is at zero, please do nothing further, then the current is already set correctly)
- Press ‘OK’ to zero the current – wait 3 seconds – if the current is not zero (±1mA) press ‘OK’ again.
- (Check: -1700mA is displayed when the power supply unit is connected, -22mA without power supply unit)
- now the current is set correctly: press ‘On/Off’ twice to switch off the device
- Very important: *Secure the battery connector with hot glue or adhesive tape
- Connect the device to the charger until the battery is full again
Device numbers of presumably affected devices: #9908, #9830, #9918, #9953, #9852, #9739, #9807, #9919, #9773 (please check (after point 1) whether the error is actually present)
